Research Assistant

Position Summary
The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting in faculty-led research in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Feik School of Pharmacy. This position contributes to the teaching and training of laboratory personnel and students and ensures compliance with research regulations and procedures. The Research Assistant reports to the Assistant Dean and Chair of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, or similar systems.
Strong communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal.
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Excellent time-management skills.
Possess a sound understanding of procedures and experiments in the area of formal training.
Ability and willingness to train in other areas to support diverse research endeavors within the department.
Ability and willingness to train in operating and maintaining equipment.
Ability and willingness to learn new instrumentation skills to help progress research projects.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
B.S. in biology, chemistry, or related field.

Required Work Experience
One (1) year of research experience.

Preferred Qualifications
M.S. in biomedical sciences, natural sciences, or related field.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None

Work Hours
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed due to nature of experiments.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs of research equipment or supplies.
Ability to reach overhead, bend, and squat to retrieve laboratory materials.
Ability to climb stools and/or ladders to reach top shelves.
