Position Summary
The Research Assistant is responsible for assisting department faculty in the operation of a shared science lab to initiate, implement, and evaluate PCR, gel electrophoresis, HPLC, and decalcified tissue histology tests. The Research Assistant reports to the Associate Dean of Research.

Required Education
Bachelors of Science Degree.

Required Work Experience
One (1) year of experience in a biomedical research lab.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters of Science Degree in biomedical research.
• Experience working with microCT imaging.
• Experience working in a bone-focused lab.
• Experience in rt-PCR and protein analyses.
• Experience with soft and hard tissue histology and cell culture methods using cell lines and primary cells.

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations


Work Hours
Typically Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with the flexibility to work occasional weekends and evenings.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift up to 40lbs of lab equipment or materials.
