Director of Financial Operations


UIW Mission


Position Summary
The Director of Financial Operations is responsible for oversight of cash, investments, endowments, tax compliance, debt management, accounting, and financial analysis and reporting primarily for for UIW's International Campuses and St. Anthony Catholic High School. The Director of Financial Operations reports to the Associate Vice President for Finance/ Comptroller.

Job Duties


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook or equivalent.
  • Strong skills in the theories, principles, and practices of accounting.
  • Strong skills in cash management.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and evaluate accounting problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively apply accounting principles and practices to non-profit accounting.
  • Ability to effectively interpret and analyze financial documents and reports.
  • Ability to effectively prepare a variety of financial statements, reports, and analyses.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and use rational judgment in making work-related decisions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, management, community, and general public.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.


Required Education
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent degree (Finance or Accounting concentration) from an accredited college or university.

Required Work Experience
  • Eight (8) years of accounting experience.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a professional setting.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Business Administration or CPA.
  • Non-profit or endowment accounting experience.
  • Banner experience.

None specified.

Work Hours
Typical Mon through Fri 8am to 5pm with extended hours as needed to meet departmental needs, especially during peak periods.

Physical Demands
Ability to occasionally move about campus to attend meetings.
