Job Description:

Duties are numbered for convenience, and do not indicate order in terms of importance, frequency that the duty is performed, or the amount of time spent on the duty.

1) Operates cashier window. Receives and processes tuition payments.

2) Balances cashier drawer. Counts and reconciles money and other receipts.

3) Assists students and others. Responds to questions and provides general information in person and by telephone.

4) Assist Students with Payment Arrangements, Stop Payments and general research questions about the accounts. Log and post follow up comments to students' accounts.

5) Tracks and processes invoices, statements and other documents.

6) Provides general administrative duties to support accounting function such as filing and retrieves documents from hard copy and electronic files, creates vendor folders, contacts vendors with questions regarding invoices, and performs other support responsibilities.

7) Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as required and approved to meet workload demands.

8) Performs other related duties as required.

Usual Physical Demands: The incumbent of this position typically exhibits the physical demands identified in the Functional Job Analysis on file in the College's Human Resources Department and which is periodically reviewed and updated. Physical demands listed in the Functional Job Analysis are not job qualification standards, but are used to help the College assess and determine reasonable accommodations for otherwise qualified individuals covered by the American's with Disabilities Act.

While performing duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Employee frequently converses with others in person and by telephone. Employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms and stoops or kneels to file documents. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee occasionally lifts up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions: Normal office working conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of: standard office practices and procedures; basic bookkeeping practices. Skill in: posting data to record; mathematical calculations; application of job related software; routine typing; maintaining accounting records. Ability to: develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, students, general public, and other job contacts; maintain confidential and sensitive information.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED and at least one year accounts payable or closely related bookkeeping experience. State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).

Preferred Qualifications: Cash Handling experience. Customer service experience in person and on the telephone.
